No. It is not uncommon to deplete the laptop battery because they don't last very long. Happens to me all the time. References :

No not really. For the battery its fine. For things on the laptop it can cause some corruption. But thats less likely since a lot of the times the system will try to safely shut down first. (Though this is an option not on all Laptops) References :

actually, it is better for it.. the guy at best buy said..use and drain it,,then charge it…instead of always keping it plugged in, or chraging it whenit already has 50 percent…this doesnt mean never do those things bc its not necessarly bad…but its "better" to….hop thes helps… lazy tiping rite now…sry References :

yes because that ay your battery can get messed up you should get a charger for your lap top or buy a new battery i recommend buying a charger becausethat way you can still stay on your computer longer and not care about messing it up References :

A laptop runs best when the adapter is always on ( its proving ). So always put on the adapter or charger. Also when you let the baterry run out, the programs wont have enough time to properly log off , this effects the computer badly. References :

You should let your battery die completely once a month and then charge it full so it will remember where full is, rechargeable bateries need this! References : a+ certified

It is bad for the battery. The more you run a battery down, the more it uses up the electrolyte and shortens the life of the battery. It might also be bad for the computer if programs are running when it shuts down as this could result in memory loss. References :

Laptop batteries aren't really built for heavy use / charging like a cellphone battery is and they are lot more expensive to replace. I only use my laptop on battery power if there's no AC supply available. References :
